Student Testimonials

My daughter Gabby started training eight years ago and is now a second-degree black belt. About a year after she began, I decided to join too—and today, I’m a first-degree black belt. What began as a way for Gabby to learn self-defense has grown into something much more; she’s gained a powerful sense of confidence and self-assurance. Watching her journey inspired me to jump in, and what I’ve discovered is just how deeply rewarding and empowering this experience can be. The sense of accomplishment is truly incredible.

I started TKD about 8 years ago when my son gave me my first uniform and a month of free classes. I decided to give it a try—even though I absolutely hated judo and didn’t like the idea of throwing people or being thrown. I much preferred the idea of punching, kicking, and blocking, and quickly realized it was way more fun than I expected. The full impact didn’t hit me until I competed in the Hammadang in Colorado. I was wearing my orange-black belt and ended up beating at least one woman with a much higher rank. I was treated like a real athlete—and, for the first time in my long life, I actually felt like one. I’m now 80 years old and in the best shape I’ve ever been, physically and emotionally, with more self-confidence than I ever imagined.

I started TKD about two years ago and am currently an orange-black belt. At first, I was really just expecting a good mental and physical workout—which it absolutely has been—but I quickly realized how much fun it is. I love the people I train with, the positive energy, and being around others my age who are into Taekwondo and enjoy working out. I also really enjoy Master Park’s teaching—it’s always interesting and informative. His passion for Taekwondo is truly infectious!
