  • How fit do I need to be to start?
    We accept all levels of fitness, and cater to the need of the individual to be able to succeed in Taekwondo.
  • What ages can participate?
    We offer a range of different classes to cater to different ages. We offer classes to those as young as 4 years old, all the way up to our accessible training classes where we have students well into their 80’s.
  • Do I need prior experience with Martial Arts?
    Absolutely not! We welcome anyone regardless of experience. Our programs are designed to cater to students at all stages in their training.
  • Can I get Injured?
    Yes but we are always working to always keep everybody safe no matter what. However, If you or your child gets hurt we have extensive first aid kits and record keeping for when necessary.
  • What is a trial class?
    We offer 2 FREE CLASSES as a way of letting you get a feel for any of the martial arts we provide and if our school is a right fit for you and your family.
  • What is the focus of TriDō?
    Development and support for Taekwondo HKP Gumdo. To teach high quality and creditable instruction. To build and foster community within our school and as an industry.
  • What are the qualifications and experience of your instructors?
    Our head instructor has over 20 years of teaching experience. The rest of our staff has at least 5 years of and experience and 1-2 years of teaching experience.
  • How long will it take to earn a black belt?
    It really depends on the student as well as the Martial Arts school they attend. At TriDō we have a minimum of 5 years of training to receive a black belt.
  • How do I schedule a trial class?
    There are several ways to schedule a trial class: 1. Send us an e-mail at info@tridomaa.com 2. Call us at 505-808-3059 3. Of course, you are always welcome to come in and talk to our front desk clerk.
  • How long does it take to earn the next belt?
    On average, students advance to the next belt every 3 to 4 months. However, progress depends on consistent attendance, focus, and effort during training.
  • Do you offer family pricing?
    Yes! We love when families train together. The more family members who join, the better the savings.
  • How long do I have to commit to classes?
    We don’t require long-term contracts. Our memberships are month-to-month—just like your local gym—so you can train on your terms.
  • What should I wear to my trial class?
    Wear something comfortable that allows you to move easily, like workout clothes. No special gear needed—just come ready to have fun!
  • Do I have to pay for my first uniform?
    Nope! Your first uniform is free when you sign up and attend your first class.
  • What is Kukkiwon?
    Kukkiwon is the world-recognized governing body for Taekwondo black belt certification. Based in South Korea, it has overseen the promotion and standardization of Taekwondo in over 200 countries since 1972.
  • What is Taekwondo?
    Taekwondo is a Korean martial art officially named in 1955 by General Choi Hong Hi. It was created to unify various Korean martial arts schools after World War II and restore national pride. “Tae” means to strike with the foot, “Kwon” means to strike with the hand, and “Do” means the way or path. Today, Taekwondo is a dynamic art focused on powerful kicks, strikes, and character development—and is practiced by over 30 million people worldwide.
  • Will this make my kid violent?
    Not at all. Martial arts teaches the opposite: respect, discipline, and self-control. Students learn to stay calm under pressure, treat others with kindness, and use their skills only when absolutely necessary. It’s not about fighting—it’s about growing in confidence, character, and resilience.
